Dragonflies and Damselflies (Odonates)

Here are a pair of downloadable posters (this is a large-format, 2-page pdf) assembled by Otter Vispo providing a bit of information and an image for almost all of the species which we have recorded from the County.

Here's a basic dragonfly slideshow (in pdf format), it profiles some of the odonates associated with different Columbia County habitats.

We're planning to add a guide to our local dragons and damsels based on the above poster; in the meantime, those interested in dull details can check-out our county list.

Here is a very rudimentary guide to some of the dragonflies and damselflies of our county. Unfortunately it is neither entirely comprehensive nor particularly detailed, but hopefully it at least gives an idea about what you could expect to find when wandering your neighborhood:

Clubtails  -  Cruisers  -  Damselflies  -  Darners  -  Emeralds  -  Jewelwings  -  Skimmers  -  Spiketails  -  Spreadwings
